Safeco Field Sky Bridge Solar Array

Livermore Architecture & Engineering provided structural engineering calculations and design support for this innovative solar array supplied by Panasonic and constructed by InSpec Group.
The use of Panasonic’s HIT double-sided (or bifacial) photovoltaic cells allows for increased generation capacity through indirect light absorption and was the perfect choice for a dramatic cantilevered portion of the array at one end of the sky bridge.

Total capacity of the array is 32.76kW, which generates nearly 40,000 kWh every year for the ball park.
