PGE Sherwood Line Training Center

Livermore Architecture & Engineering developed the architectural and structural design of PGE’s new Sherwood Line Training Center. For over 20 years, the lineman training program has used an outdoor yard for training their apprentices. The new facility will provide a large indoor training area with a 50-foot high roof and will allow training activities year-round in all weather. Power poles will be set up inside the building and will be wired by the trainees. A mezzanine level will give instructors an excellent vantage point to observe the activity.

Also housed in the building are three classrooms, a breakroom, and several offices. The design features a clean, minimal, industrial look that is consistent with the linemans’ work ethic and philosophy. Touches such as the power pole columns at the front entry play homage to the linemans’ work.
