Tillamook Airport Business Park

The Near Space Corporation and Port of Tillamook Bay aim to extend the production facilities for the unmanned aerial vehicle manufacturer. Livermore Architecture & Engineering has provided development site planning and feasibility analysis for the project. The manufacturing program includes extending the existing building to allow for the production of 500-foot tall, high altitude weather balloons, which will fly inside the atmosphere at the very edge of outer space. Additionally, four new aircraft hangars will be provided for the storage of unmanned aircraft. New models and experimental aircraft will be operated out of the hangars for testing in the UAV dedicated airspace around the airport.

Challenges to the project include a FEMA Floodplain, FAA Height Restrictions, existing below-grade utilities, designated wetlands, and organic fill materials within the soils.
