LAE designed R+L Carriers’s new facility which includes a 40,000 SF, 60-door terminal, 5,000 SF office, 9,500 SF maintenance building, and a fueling station. LAE adapted R+L’s standard branding and building design to meet the specific requirements of the local jurisdiction for aesthetics, siting of parking areas, and building orientation. Approvals were received for Design Review and a Special Use Permit.
The buildings have a pre-engineered metal structural frame; exterior materials include EIFS and metal siding. Pits were designed in the maintenance building to allow for servicing of the vehicles. Special care was taken to ensure that the site has adequate and safe vehicle maneuvering areas.
