As a local institution within Portland’s famous coffee culture, Portland Roasting was looking for a way to more closely connect its product with its customers when it came up with the idea to create an in-house café known as the Cupping Room. With this connection between coffee and customer in mind, Livermore A&E worked with a local project team to develop a series of modest exterior and interior architectural modifications to one of Portland Roasting’s existing buildings. From the simple but carefully crafted exterior façade trellis in to the approachable serving area, each architectural move was designed to draw people inside from the street and into a warm environment of rich colors and natural wood finishes.
In addition to designing the exterior architectural elements and the Cupping Room’s interior environment, Livermore Architecture & Engineering, Inc. also provided code review services, structural engineering of the exterior trellis, and assistance with securing the building permit.
