OMSI Solar Canopy

Livermore Architecture & Engineering, Inc. joined in a collaborative effort with InSpec Group, Sanyo North America Corp and Portland General Electric to design and construct the first publicly-accessible solar canopy in North America at Portland’s Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI). This multi-modal structure provides shelter and recharging capability for up to three EV automobiles and electric-assist bicycles while also providing weatherproof lockers with integrated electrical outlets for its users. In total, the Sanyo-provided solar array can generate up to 10,000 kilowatt hours of renewable power per year.
