This project doubles the size of the production areas. The project consists of a 41,500 SF main production addition and a 15,000 SF, 70’ tall raw material building. Construction is conventional steel frame with insulated metal panel walls. Because of the small site with difficult constraints, functional areas of the building were arranged like a puzzle, with each piece placed just right. New parking areas, truck loading docks and accessways, raw material deliveries, new site utilities, and landscaping all needed to be accommodated on the site. LAE worked closely with Diamond Foods and a team to create a structure that would maximize storage space and forklift access while meeting the needs of equipment loading and layout. Careful coordination with the existing building was required. The project will allow Diamond to expand the flavor offerings of its Kettle Brand potato chips. LAE services included design and construction documents, as well as construction administration.
